East Pittsburgh

Larimer is conveniently located east of Downtown, and offers residents a choice of cultural and recreational amenities. The Pittsburgh Zoo, tennis courts, and ball fields and a playground are all within close proximity to the neighborhood.

Larimer is home to many stately old "Pittsburgh Boxes" and frame-and-brick rowhomes, and is an affordable community for homeownership. Residents who are interested in renovating their properties here are eligible for the 10-year tax abatement program offered by the City of Pittsburgh.

The neighborhood's residents are served by active community groups that provide youth programming and address issues affecting the quality of life in the neighborhood.

The neighborhood is adjacent to East Liberty, a community that has seen a rebirth over the last five years, and is within walking distance of many shops, restaurants, and grocery stores.
